Our Mission
Faith in Action
The mission of Knights of Columbus Council 9888 is to strengthen Catholic men in their faith, support our parish and families, serve those in need, and build a stronger community through charity, unity, fraternity, and service.
We strive to follow the example of Blessed Michael McGivney, founder of the Knights of Columbus, by putting our Catholic faith into action and answering the call to serve others.
Who We Are
Council 9888 is a brotherhood of Catholic men united by a common faith and a desire to make a positive difference in our parish and community.
Our members come from different backgrounds, professions, and stages of life, but we share a commitment to our Catholic faith, our families, our parish, and one another.
Being a Knight is more than belonging to an organization. It is an opportunity to grow in faith, develop lasting friendships, serve alongside fellow Catholics, and use our time and talents for the good of others.
What We Do
Our council works throughout the year to support our parish and community through charitable, spiritual, social, and service activities.
Our efforts include:
- Supporting Our Parish — Assisting with parish activities, ministries, celebrations, and special needs.
- Helping Those in Need — Supporting charitable causes and providing assistance to individuals and families in our community.
- Strengthening Our Faith — Encouraging prayer, spiritual growth, Catholic formation, and greater participation in the life of the Church.
- Supporting Families — Promoting strong Catholic families and creating opportunities for families to participate in council and parish activities together.
- Building Fellowship — Bringing Catholic men together through meetings, dinners, social events, and shared service.
- Supporting Vocations — Encouraging and supporting seminarians, priests, deacons, and those discerning a religious vocation.
- Serving Our Community — Participating in programs and activities that benefit our neighbors and the wider community.
Our Guiding Principles
Everything we do is rooted in the four principles of the Knights of Columbus.
Charity
Charity is at the heart of our work. We are called to recognize Christ in others and respond generously to those who need our help.
Unity
Together we can accomplish far more than we can individually. We stand together in our faith and work together in service to our parish and community.
Fraternity
The Knights of Columbus is a brotherhood. We support one another, build lasting friendships, and stand beside our brother Knights and their families in both good times and difficult ones.
Patriotism
We are committed to responsible citizenship and service to our community and country while remaining faithful to the teachings and values of our Catholic faith.
Faith, Family, Community and Life
Our activities reflect the four major areas of the Knights of Columbus Faith in Action program:
Faith — Helping Catholic men and their families deepen their relationship with Christ and grow in their Catholic faith.
Family — Strengthening Catholic family life and creating opportunities for families to grow together in faith and service.
Community — Serving our parish, neighbors, and local community, especially those who are most in need.
Life — Upholding the dignity of every human life and supporting programs that care for and protect people at every stage of life.
Brotherhood Through Service
Service is also an opportunity for fellowship. Whether we are supporting a parish event, organizing a charitable activity, preparing a community dinner, or simply helping someone who needs a hand, we do it together.
These shared experiences strengthen the bonds between our members and allow us to build friendships centered on faith and a common purpose.
